Ring doorbell stupid question

Hi all, I would like to get a mains ring doorbell for security etc. It would mean installing mains by our front door. However we are considering moving house next year. If we do so will it leave a hole in the wall/cables sticking out? Thanks!

Yes of course - if you take it away the hole won't magically reseal itself and retract the electric cable. Either leave the doorbell behind too (cheapest option) or get an electrician to disconnect and make safe / and make the hole on the door good.

Ok, thank you @elevenplusdilemma. I just wasn't sure if it would just be a plug socket or something neat left behind.

We have a rechargeable battery one. Works fine. It rings on my phone if the doorbell rings.

We also have a rechargeable battery one which is easy to use and recharge. It would save you doing the wiring if you are going to move soon.

The wired one is £35, I’d treat that as something like a bathroom cabinet that you leave.

It'll be a drilled hole in the door frame / wall with a short length of electrical flex hanging out. No plug socket.

Thanks so much all. Have a great Christmas!
