Hotpoint oven help please - cuts out during cooking

Hello,

Has anyone got a Hotpoint oven, specifically the model number SA2540HIX?

I just moved into in a rented property with this as the oven and when I tried cooking last week it continuously cut out whilst on, it's not an electrical fault because the display is still on and I can turn the light on and off.

The landlord sent someone round to assess it and he said that I wasn't using it properly, that it cut off during cooking to save electricity....I've just downloaded the manual and it doesn't say anything about it cutting out during cooking. I'm cooking Xmas dinner for 9 next week and I don't fancy a raw turkey. I haven't had chance to use the oven much as we have a halogen one and a slow cooker (there's only 3 of us so it doesn't make sense to use the big oven) so I've just put a chicken in to test it out, I can hear it on and off in a pretty random cycle and am ignoring it until the house and a half are up.

Just wondered if it was normal for it to cut out?

Thanks all

Its the fan overheating.
I needed a new part (i cant remember what part it was my old home)
Put oven on and slowly increase temperature… repeat and you will see it’s something to do with thermostat or fan .. so frustrating for me sorry I cant remember what part was needed but I’ll see if I can check old emails to see where part came from

Thank you!
I thought it sounded dodgy, it's not a new oven as it's filthy so I knew it wasnt as eco friendly as he was making out and must have been here the whole 10 years the last tenants were here.

But to be honest this chicken is doing ok....it's almost time to take it out so fingers crossed

Sorry I searched for the part but think a family member ordered it. What I remember was that if the oven went over a certain temperature it would just cut out
The built in oven had to be taken put and it was something behind the fan (im useless!)

This happened to my oven and it was a broken element in the oven, if I recall correctly. I replaced the oven, as it was more cost effective than repair.
