Burst pipe and central heating

My garden tap has burst - I can only stop it by switching off the mains water. Can I still run my heating while I wait for the plumber (probably Monday now)?

Yes.

If you can see the burst, you might be able to bodge a repair with a bandage now you have turned off the supply so there is no pressure pushing your repair away while you work. Post some pics if you can.

Also, follow the pipe back. Anyone who was not a numbskull would have fitted an indoor or underground isolating valve for the garden tap.

Thank you @PigletJohn and yes fitted by a bodger builder!

You could probably fit an isolating tap yourself.

Use this to cut out a suitable section for the isolating tap.

If you need to replace the section of burst pipe.
