Preparing belongings for storage

Help!

So my house sale is completing soon but unfortunately ny onward purchase has been delayed. I'm staying with a friend and putting my things in storage. It's being stored at the removals company site. Most stuff is in boxes and suitcases. Is there anything special I should do for my furniture? Thinking sofa seat cushions etc. and things that are too big to go in boxes?

I’d make an inventory. One removal firm managed to lose some of our stuff. Not a lot, but it was annoying. Take photos of furniture, so you have proof if anything is damaged.
