What you love most in your kitchen?

Hi :)
I'm now designing a new kitchen. It's a decent space (was the kitchen and diner originally) but we are certainly not on a luxury budget so boiling water taps for 1k are not on the radar.
But I would LOVE to know what you love in your kitchen that it's worth me thinking about, I've never before had the opportunity to design a kitchen and so I'd like to get it right but would really appreciate advice of those who have been there and done that,
Thanks so much for your time :)

Have you considered dekton/ porcelain worktop. It has better heat resistance than quartz and granite, and can be perfectly cut around a sunken porcelain butler style sink

Ours is porcelain. Matt off white worktop, with same Villeroy and boch under mount sink, they blend almost seamlessly. Was around €4k beginning of this year for both combined, approx 4.5m length.

It was our largest expense in the new kitchen but well worth it. ( about 1/3 total cost)

Good grief- I've been quoted £8k for the quartz worktop by b and q. £8k!!!!!

What size are your worktops?

I have been quoted £3k for a 2m by 1 M island and an L shaped counter that is 2.9 by 2.4m plus upstand on one run and a full splashback in the second.

the company I am using supplies B and Q. Think it is cheaper to go to the source. I was also able to see the full slab rather than a small square
