What did removals cost?

Moving in the NW. One mile journey. 3 bed semi, shed, loft, no garage. What did this cost you for removals, interested in both standard removals and packers. I have people coming to give quotes in the new year but I need to work out how many extra shifts I need to do at work for the funds 🙈

We moved just over 12 months ago. NW. 3 (double) bed terrace but weren't taking white goods or wardrobes. £700 I think but I packed so maybe another £100 or so of stuff. No loft, shed or garage. 2.6 miles and a 7 minute drive. We did need 2 vans though because of the size of the old road. It's not the distance but all the hanging around whilst the money gets to the right place so they can't book another job in

Moved twice last year, used professional removal companies both times (not man with van type).
No packing or materials (boxes, bubble wrap etc) as we did everything ourselves.
3+Bed house, garage, shed, garden etc.
First move was 45-miles, second 20-miles.

First company sent 7.5t lorry, large Luton van and 4-blokes. £1.2K Inc VAT.
Second company sent 2x7.5t lorries and 6-blokes, £1.1K Inc VAT.

In both cases they arrived at 8am and were fully unpacked by 2pm.

If you’re in the NW I’d highly recommend cheerful man and van services. They’re Manchester based and really good.

I moved from a shared flat to a 2 bed flat a few miles away with them so not really comparable to a house move but I think I paid just over £100. We’re moving early next year hopefully and we’ll be using them again!

Can you give me a link @rrrrrreatt ?

Hello Dougie. Please can you share the names of the two firms you used for your moves? The second one especially! Great value. Thank you.
