New kitchen next spring. Attached pic are quartz worktop, cupboards and the oak that's picked out on a couple of shelves and a window seat. What would you do with floor? I'm thinking vinyl as want to steam mop. Don't want oak floor as adjacent rooms have that and it won't patch and will be too much. Should I go dark floor or light? Walls and tiles will probably have blue in them.

vinyl and steam mops dont go together very well we put vinyl on our kitchen floor and the steamer lifted it and made it bubble so we have retro fitted large square matt slip resistant porcelain tiles expensive but worth it so much easier five minutes with a a spray bottle of flash and the steamer

I spent ages debating and researching kitchen floors! I landed on wood effect tiles.

Ooh interesting. Hadn't thought of that sort of option. What do we think about a dark grey?

I have promised myself no grey anywhere! I did have grey tiles in my last house though.

I find grey floors hard to match - they require a cooler colour pallets and I am aiming for warmer neutrals. But every house is different and dark grey might look fantastic in your house/

Hmm I'm not sure it will. Just think I'm a bit short of ideas. The units are called cashmere, lovely colour that looks different in different lights which I'm really chuffed with but I think it's making the floor hard to 'see'
