Been trying to move house since September. Our house went under offer 1st weekend of September and we've been trying to find somewhere to move since then. Offered on 5 to 6 properties but lost out to cash buyers and because we're in a chain. We have managed to get our last offer accepted but it's on a small two bed flat with no storage and realistically it's crap. Feeling super stuck. Do we just buy it cos that the only thing we can get, do we pull out and piss of our buyers, do we just stay put? It all just feels pretty impossible. To top it off - just checked house prices - and prices in our area have fallen but everything in the area we're looking at is still going to best and finals. I really really hate house buying and after yet another sleepless night, it all just feels like its too much

Personally I would just stay where you are. I would never buy a house that I am not 100% happy to be stuck in for 10 maybe even 15 years. Most people take about five years to financially recover their savings etc from a house move so that they have stamp duty ready for the next one. They have removal cost ready for the next one and any immediate decorating and repair needs, so if you need the equity to jump say to House for example it’s just not gonna work.
