Anyone used the London bath company?

Yes they are pricey but this is a major investment for our house and we have a lot going on at the moment so the idea of the whole thing being project managed appeals.

Has anyone used them? Good or bad reviews?

I just checked and we used them for our bathroom back in 2018. They were okay but it definitely wasn't hassle free. Delays in starting, delays in doing the work, deliveries turning up at random times. The admin person was generally very quick at responding but there wasn't much project managing going on. The quality of the work wasn't great and we had to get them back twice to fix things (tiles falling off, fixtures breaking). They also did something to the bathroom door which meant that about 6 months later it just collapsed and fell off - I think they took it off to bring stuff in and then didn't put it on correctly or something. What they designed was very nice and it looks pretty slick as a bathroom but I think we could have got the same effect for less.

Hmmm that doesn't sound good - all of those admin things are partly what attracts me to a design and build company.

We just had our design meeting and it was completely underwhelming. Had to start from scratch with the designer - might as well have done it myself in the first place.
Will await to see the final results but I'm not very convinced.

We got a quote from them in June to re-fit our en-suite and almost choked on the free coffee they gave us - £28k!!! The stuff was nice but definitely not worth that price! I've decided to purchase the suite myself now and find a few trades to install at a fraction of the cost

We told them our budget was £25k max for a full bathroom, not en suite, and they said they would work with that. I have a feeling when they send the final design it's going to be something stupid like £40k so we'll just laugh and walk away.

Sigh. I was really hoping for a stress free solution.

That is pretty much what happened with us although we didn't walk away because were idiots.

Dear Calypso,
I do apologise that you were anything other than delighted with the experience you received. I am the CEO of The London Bath Co. and your post about the service you received in 2018 has just been brought to my attention. I can only apologise that you were anything other than delighted with the experience you received.

I would like to reassure you that as a company client care and experience is our utmost priority. Obviously things do go wrong occasionally but not things like you mentioned in your post so I’m surprised I don’t recall this project.

However, when things do go wrong we recognise it is inconvenient and annoying so we try our best to treat it as an opportunity to impress and reassure clients by ensuring that any aftercare issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently without any questions and with minimum inconvenience.

Regardless, clearly you have been left feeling underwhelmed and whilst I realise this was over 4 years ago I would very much appreciate learning more about what happened. If you could email me directly at [email protected] it would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Steve Baker
Chief Executive Officer
The London Bath Co.
