Can we ask for a price reduction?

Hi, we are in the process of buying our first home. We carried out and survey which identified that the air bricks had been rendered over which means there may be issues with sub floor ventilation. Nothing else of major concern. Would we be reasonable to ask the vendor to either remove the render to check for siflgnicifant damage or request a discount to carry out the work outselves once own the place?

No. It sounds pretty minor to me. If I was the seller I would worry about what else you might ask about later on in the process and seriously consider pulling out!

No. As pp said it's minor.

They’d laugh.

No sort it out yourself when you've bought the property

No.

I don't think you will get far with a request like that.

I disagree - when I bought my first house the mortgage lender insisted the vendor cut back the render which had been taken to far down. Sounds as though there's an inadequate gap between the ground level and the render.
