Recommendations for nice places in Hampshire to relocate that are commutable to London

Hi there, We are thinking about relocating to Hampshire area with our young family. We love Winchester but know how pricey it is. We need to be somewhere with decent schools that is commutable to London a couple of times a week within 90 minutes door to door so not too far from a station. It would also be great to be somewhere that isn't too quiet and has things going on fairly nearby. Where would you recommend please that has a nice feel? We have a budget of approx £850/900k for a 4 bed house if possible. Thanks

Petersfield fits your brief. A busy market town in the South Downs with good train access into London - 1 hour 6 minutes on the fast and slightly longer on the slow. Good road access with the A3 back into London and the coast in the other direction. 30 minutes drive to Winchester and Guildford in the other direction.

It's cheaper than Winchester. Has all the main shops and independents as well.
M & S Foods, Waitrose, Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Boots, Superdrug, WH Smith, Waterstones, Fat Face, Mint Velvet etc. Twice weekly market, a number of decent restaurants and pubs with lots of others in local villages. Lido and leisure centre.

You would get what you are looking for budget wise on a nice road near the station and it's all walkable into town for shopping.

Can't give you info on schools but there is a choice.

Fleet?

Easy to get to London, good schools around, town centre isn’t impressive, but you can get to Reading, Camberley other centres quite easily.

Second Fleet. I'm in Farnborough and would love to live in Fleet but my budget is less than half of yours, OP! Fleet is nice, some great parks, local restaurants and a nice community feel. Haslemere or Petersfield would probably be nicer and you could probably stretch to Farnham with that budget but I find Farnham a bit soulless!

I would honestly look at Winchester as your budget would get you a 4 bed but definitely a smaller one and less garden. Depends if you are after proper 4 bed detached.
