Hive, nest or something else?

I had a hive in my last house and really liked it. Not sure whether to get the same again or try a different system. Any recommendations?

Basically I liked being able to turn the heating on and off on my phone, set heating on my phone, and turn lights and sockets on and off.

We left everything except one smart socket for our buyers so not tied to hive if another option is better.

I have hive as it's the only one that works with electric only.

I have three.

Hive for the gas CH, Smart Life for the door sensors and other temperature monitoring and TCPLink for the cameras and lights. I also have an electric heater on TCPLink but rarely use it.

Which is best ? Dunno. Hive is great, but the alternate sensors are expensive compared with Smart Life ones. TCP link similar.

Smart life has a greater range of stuff than the other two and the sensors are a lot cheaper. It is a bit less professionally done though in the app.

Nest is easy - I often turn my heating in at home when I’m leaving my office, so it’s warming up when I get back. Or if it feels chilly when I wake up in the morning I can turn it up from my bed!

We got a new boiler last year along with a nest thermostat. It's so nice. We rarely have to adjust the heating but it's really easy if we do. Love it.
