what are these called and where can I buy them?!

This is driving me a bit insane. My DS has pull down fabric blinds from IKEA in his room - they are tall windows, so the blinds have a plastic clip at their 'hem' that you use a hook to pull them down with. The clips can easily slide on/off when you are fitting the blinds, if that makes sense.

One of these clips has broken. I've been trying to find a replacement online but can't find anything, and the IKEA website is no use either! Does anyone know what I'm on about? 😖

Can you post a picture?

Something like this?

@hugoagogo thank you. I'm not in the house right now but will try to upload later!

@dementedpixie - thank you too. Yes, exactly that sort of thing, although the original clip had a hole within it, so you could easily hook it down.

I just googled the blind on IKEA and then googled schottis clip replacement and got a few hits

If you find the original on the IKEA website you can see the manual and then request spare parts.

I have these in my utility - got them from Dunelm

superette · 24/11/2022 12:54

Thank you so very much for searching! Not entirely sure those suggestions would work with the need to hook/pull the blind down from a height though?

Ah, no the dunelm ones are different to that

Digimoor · 24/11/2022 13:00

Ikea will give you replacements for free (ours broke too)
You just need the name of the blind and they will look up the part number

iloveyoghurt · 24/11/2022 16:48

I am pretty sure those blinds are not in stock any more

superette · 24/11/2022 19:32

So sorry for slow response - a work emergency kicked off. Thanks so much for your help so far. @Digimoor - that is great to know, but annoyingly I have no idea what these blinds were called as we fitted them 4 years ago!

I wonder if there's anyway to find out if they are still around (you are probably right @iloveyoghurt , as I can't see them on the website). That said, I don't need them to be an exact match, I just need them to do the job!

If anyone could recommend something similar, that would be great!

For now why not use a decent bulldog clip?

I tried to buy those blinds( i had them 6 years ago in my previous flat)in ikea last year and couldn't find it anywhere, i had to buy the ones you put up and down with a 'stick' on the side.

superette · 24/11/2022 22:30

@LittleBrownRug - bulldog clip is a good idea!

@iloveyoghurt - thanks but I’m a little confused - these are the ones you pull up and down with a stick?! X

The new type have a stick attached to the blind/ mechanism on the side ( very annoying and loud to put up and down)

If you used your ikea family card you can look up all your old in store receipts online
