PICS - floorplan - WWYD with this kitchen shape?

Ignoring the current owner's clutter, what would you do with this L-shaped kitchen -dining area?

Major structural work is not an option.

I think I'd rip out most of the storage units down that side leading to the dining space including the double fridge/freezer. But how to best use that remaining corridor-type space?

Is there a door in the corridor area which isn't marked on the floor plan?

Not sure about the water connections etc but I would maybe use the current kitchen as a utility/downstairs lol, build a wall to cut in half current room, bring down wall between dining and study and make that an open plan kitchen diner. That kitchen is a ridiculously unusable layout!

@StopMakingAppointments that door is side access out to garden

But the door isn't on the floor plan? Not trying to be facetious was trying to work out I was looking at it properly.

I would rip out the units as you suggested and just have it as an open space as if there is a door there leading to the outside it's basically a bit of a hallway space anyway.

@StopMakingAppointments correct, it isn't on the floorplan, we only found out where the door leads to at a viewing.

The floor plan looks a bit more generous than the photos, but I would look at doing something like this...

@OhhBiscuits that's very clever - no knocking through required either. The garden is beautiful and this layout would make much better use of it.

...and gives us the two living spaces we'll need when kids become teens. I really like this.....thanks.

@fancyaflatwhite you're very welcome! I have created a second living room space at home and it makes such a difference. Good luck!
