Hello

I need to renovate some rooms in our new house.

I need to change the radiators, add plug sockets, fit cupboards, change skirting & add coving, change flooring.

What order should i do things?

electrics
plumbing
built ins
coving/skirting
flooring

Also the windows are ugly but completely functional so don't want to waste money yet. Can i get the shutters fixed now & at a later date sort the windows & put the shutters back on?

Pretty much how you listed above but depending on what flooring you are putting down can affect the order. Carpet should be before and I have been told that vinyl should be after. Once you decide on your flooring then ask them. Bear in mind depending on your walls you may need to add in someone to repair the walls if they have to chase them in. If it’s stud they should be able to pull the cables in

@autumn1610 that was quick!

We will do no carpet in the living rooms, haven't decided what to do upstairs yet.

Yes good point re wall repair I assume that would come after plumbing & electrics & coving/skirting?

Do you paint after floor or does it depend on type? I forgot the painting bit in my op!

Personally I'm going to paint before putting down flooring. That way I won't damage the carpets getting painted on them

I'm about to do up a 1960s terrace. The electrics are good (I hope) as is the plumbing but I need good most of the other things on your list.

Currently we are doing various stuff, this was the order:
Electrics

Plumbing
Windows if needed
Plastering

Joinery

Coving/skirting

Decorating

Flooring
Snagging
