I don't know if anyone has experience of this kind of thing but here goes. We have been excepted by a landlord to rent his flat subject to referencing checks. Affordability criteria says we have to earn minimum 39k. I'm on a zero hours contract (doing part time hours) and have been told by pretty much every estate agent that that is going to be an issue because lettings agents don't see zero hours contracts as guaranteed income. My husband told me he earns 39K so I thought that's fine then. But today he filled in his referencing form and it turns out actually he earns 38,930, so literally £70 off. He thinks it's only £70 so it will be fine, but I'm not so sure the referencing company (rent4sure) will accept that!! I asked the letting agent what they thought and they didn't think it would be an issue but I'm still worrying anyway...does anyone have an opinion or experience of this kind of issue? Will the referencing company take my savings into account?
