Shared ownership on non new properties?

Looking into this; found a company that does it - are there many companies that do?

I know reselling is an issue but is there anything else that screams out as a problem?

They wouldn't always work for a traditional monthly income that may stay stagnant, but might for someone whose work is more freelance

Any thoughts?

20 years ago I want on the council list and from there could go on the shared housing list and from there did DIY SO - didn't have an issue selling as it just went back in the open market.

Had to use their valuation (which was fine) and solicitor though (he was a bit crap)

Thanks @RandomMess - we nearly did it that way back around then too, things changed so we didn't pursue it in the end

It's all a bit different

It appears to be companies rather than ha/social housing now

Sad

If it gives you somewhere suitable and secure to live for the rest of your lives that's the priority over future value etc.

I think it will work for them fine, I just need to make sure I've thought of every down side

Which is the company? Do you mean shared equity rather than shared ownership?

www.yourhome.org.uk

I dont know - what is the difference?

They pay rent on the bit they haven't bought yet
