Council not allowing tenant to make complaints

Every time a complaint is filled in online there is an email notification the following day saying you cannot make complaints and must raise it informally first even when informal process has been exhausted

Go via your councillor.

Use the form to ask for a copy of their complaints procedure to be emailed to you.

Using the online form probably isn't the correct procedure to make a formal complaint.

If you don't get anywhere though absolutely escalate it to your MP. Most councils have people employed to specifically respond to complaints and deal with MP queries.

When you received the response from your informal complaint there should have been details about what to do next.
