Kahrs engineered oak flooring

Hi. I am looking at engineered wood for my ground floor and wondered what are people's experiences with Kahrs? The reviews on Trustpilot and Review Centre aren't great but I'd appreciate some personal experiences if anyone is willing to comment. I'm particularly interested in the ultra Matt lacquer 15mm boards, capital collection for over underfloor heating. Thanks a lot.

I have Kahrs engineered oak, didn't have any issues with customer service or delivery but I have to say the flooring hasn't been as resilient as I thought it would be. Maybe I expected too much but it's not worn that well.

I had Kahrs Verona Brushed Matt in my old house. I loved it. We had a dog with long claws running up and down the hall and it was bombproof.we had it through the ground floor and while it went golden, like all oak flooring, it looked just as good when we left as the day it was laid. I like the Matt-looked like oiled but without the upkeep.

That's very helpful. Thank you both.

We’ve had it a year. 2 dogs 2 young children. Not a scratch yet. We have it all throughout ground floor inc kitchen WC and utility. No water damage either (and we are v messy)

@mintbiscuit , do you have the lacquered style? We are looking at Kahrs atm for an open plan kitchen/living/dining area and I prefer the brushed and oiled look, but suspect that lacquer would be better for kitchen area. My lot are spillers!

We had it through a local flooring shop who measured up and told us what we'd need. They sent one part wrong and wouldn't correct it without me paying for the new part and postage. I don't know whose fault the mistake was but it cost me a fortune for the flooring and the customer service was dreadful.

You can get brushed matt lacquer which replicates the brushed oiled look without the maintenance.

@Subbaxeo , that sounds ideal. Thanks for the info.

Ours is an ultra Matt lacquer from memory. No shine. But hardy. I love the oiled but was realistic about the upkeep (I’m super lazy).

To those with a Matt lacquer finish, does the colour deepen with age as it does on oiled boards? Thanks.

@raindropsarefallingonmyhead did you decide on the ultra Matt lacquer in the end? I’ve ordered up some samples and they are beautiful but don’t look like they have any kind of lacquer applied so the wood feels lovely and smooth but easily damagable! I was wondering if they send out the samples without the finish?

I was going to get it but my carpenter (a local recommended by someone he’d done work for) said he could get a similar off brand version for half the price and did so. That was 4 or 5 years ago and it still looks great (though I don’t have toddlers or pets).
