Colour for new front door - would I be mad to have cream?

Door frame will be browny/black to match window frames. Windows have stone sills and corners of house also have stone edging. Looked at Chartwell green, but it’s just a bit too green for me. DH would like blue but I’m not sure it would go with the brown frame. Would cream be too boring and need cleaning every day?

Honestly, I think it would be a missed opportunity not to use some colour. Brighton by Little Greene is a pale blue with a bit of yellow that would contrast beautifully with your brickwork

Yes you would be. Cream will constantly look dirty. As PP said find a colour to contrast with brickwork. Blue/green or sage green. It will looks heaps better

Postbox red.

Grey-blue would go lovely with the bricks, but it's not so nice with the glossy brown. I would paint all the window frames and porch a grey with a slight blue tint, and then the door a couple of shades more into the blue spectrum.

I think you’ve put me off cream! I’m not painting the window frames as they are brand new and the only colour that suited the guttering etc. will check out the pale blue. Red is also a good shout!

Red looks smart and the door doesn't usually have to be the same colour inside and out. Same with the window frames.

So I’ve just read that red composite doors fade. Back to the colour chart again.
