That wasn’t there this morning! We bought the house 18 months ago and it’s a real wood floor in the front room. 1930s-1950s semi.

anyone know what’s going on?

Picture?

Damp?

Leaking water pipe?

No idea, but watching with interest as exactly the same thing happened to my friend's wooden floor a few days ago! She has no idea either. Just got up in the morning, came down and saw it.

I would be very concerned about a water leak.

water leak is by far the most likely. even if the water is leaking in a corner, it soaks under the whole floor and makes the wood expand. then the wood bulges up in the middle because that is where it is easiest to bulge.

buy a damp meter from Amazon and test every bit of wall & floor. examine the house inside & out to see if there is anywhere that water could be leaking in.

We had a leaking water pipe and the wooden floor lifted in a huge bulge. It had to be replaced.

thanks All. We have a bloke coming to measure up for new flooring, will get him to have a look. Wasn’t going to do that room….
