Pls can anyone tell me what this ornament is?

My auntie has given me this rather strange ornament, she said it's a flower vase but honestly I don't know what on earth to do with it.

I do quite like it and it's beautifully made. So does anyone know what it is? What's it's used for? Or what do I do with it? It looks quite old, but it's so odd and I've no idea what the two separate pieces are for.

I feel really confused by it.

The extra pieces must hang from the spiral loops, they are probably meant to hold grapes or sweets.

No unfortunately it doesn't.

I think tomorrow I'll contact the Sally Auctioneer and see if they are interested in buying it

It's a victorian epergne. A table centrepiece. I watch a lot of antiques programmes 😄
