Mortgage Lender doing another search?

Question for you all…

Just wondered if any of you have had another search done just before completion? the lender has already done searches on credit file before I was given my offer, I want to start using my credit card to buy things for the house. Is this ok?

I wouldn’t if I were you. They can do another search prior to completion (I asked this exact question to our mortgage broker and he said although it was rare it was possible) so I held off getting any credit prior to completion

Why would they do a second search if they have already made you a mortgage offer? Could they withdraw the offer if the search didn’t go well?

If you've already got the credit card, I don't see a problem. I've been using mine as usual (just waiting to complete). I do all my spending on my credit card usually in any event and then pay it off in full. Wouldn't occur to me not to use it! I wouldn't necessarily apply for a new card or new credit limit though
