We have moved into our house, and one of the first things we want to do is to rip up the cream carpet, and sand and seal the original parquet floor underneath...the problem is that we have a dog (and kids and us). We had lovely bare floorboards in our old house, which we had sanded and re-sealed about a 18 months before we moved out, and in that time, the dog had already wreaked them (just by being a dog, and doing a little bit of running). We had a Boma water-based laquer, which we were told was the hardest-wearing thing on the market.
We have now been advised by one person to use an oil-based sealant (Pallmann), and another has told me that there is a Loma water-based that is the most durable thing on the market, and they'd put three coats on.
I just don't know what to do, and I was hoping someone might have some experience/advice!
