Reusing Searches

We are in a chain of four properties, five parties including FTB at the start of the chain. The chain was closed in the middle of July and things seemed to be progressing nicely. Four weeks ago at the start of October the FTB buyers pulled out. They were going to buy our buyers’ house.

Our buyers quickly put their house back on the market, and two weeks later in the middle of October they accepted a new offer so it’s all systems go again.

Does the countdown get effectively reset to day one?
Or is there any scope for reusing search results to speed progress for second sale?

Our sale and purchase don’t appear to be directly affected, it’s just the progress of the rest of the chain.

It should catch up relatively quickly as the paperwork can be reissued straight away. Most solicitors like to do their own searches rather than buy old ones. They aren’t taking too long either.

Yes it is possible to reuse searches depending on timescale and it speeded up our sale after chain broke earlier this year.
