Smeg Portofino Range cooker - induction hob

Does anyone have this cooker? I'm looking at a 90cm twin oven version. It's nice and solid and has a 5 year warranty, but I'm struggling to find reviews. Apart from one on Which which says it's rubbish at baking cakes!

Anyone got one, and prepared to let me know if they are happy?

we have a smeg range and the oven is so ahit that we use the microwave combi oven to bake cakes.

thanks Blossomtoes, I checked and yes it does come in a 90. So glad you’ve found one you’re happy with! I will check it out further, although it’s not quite the style am after for my kitchen.

I have a Smeg range cooker and haven’t had a problem with cakes and baking in it. I’ve had it for about a year now and still love it.

The only thing that takes a little getting used to is the temperature dial for the oven as it doesn’t have all the temperatures shown or even dots to aim for so you are sometimes guessing what temperature you’re on … you do get used to it though.

It looks very beautiful in my kitchen.

90cm Smeg Concert with big single oven. I have a combi microwave for smaller meals. I always use the Smeg for baking though.

We have a Smeg 90cm portofino, but ours is not a split oven and we have a gas hob, so not exactly the same!
Have had no issues with it at all. There’s quite a lot of oven functions though, so easy to pick the one they recommend for something and find it not great, especially the first time. I think I needed to adjust times and temps as I was just used to a fan oven. To be fair, that is still the setting we use most 😁.

thank you. Good to get a positive vote for baking! The Portofino I am looking at has had the production 'paused', so I'm giving up for now and will look again in the new year.

Thanks Mbear, it's good to know you're happy with it. I've heard that it takes a bit of time to learn to use, so will be prepared for that!

We've got this and so far love it. My cakes come out no worse than normal.
