Damp patches on wall - what to do?

For context I've been in my terraced house for 16 years.

I've noticed 2 damp patches appearing on my front interior wall, between the window and front door. Upon closely looking at the exterior pebble dashed wall I can see that there are 3 holes in the wall (which I presume were for a hanging basket bracket from years ago) - could this be leading to water ingress? Either way please can anyone advise on the course of action I need to take?

It's the sort of thing my Dad would help me with; but he sadly passed away in September and feeling clueless without him 😔

How big are the damp patches? I’m wondering how 3 little screw holes could allow so much damp, we’ve taken basket brackets down from our brickwork and haven’t -touch wood!-had an issue. What is the guttering like above the patches? Is there a down pipe in the vicinity?

maybe if you post some internal and external pictures @PigletJohn could have a look?

I’m sorry for your loss Flowers

Just to say I've been in my house for 4yrs and the sudden damp patches that have appeared in the past few weeks are quite something.

I do hope you can find a fix and will shamelessly follow this post!

So very sorry about your loss Flowers
