We need some repointing and some damaged bricks cut out and replaced. Trying to find quotes but noones really getting back to me. Has anyone had repointing done recently? What was the cost? Thanks

About £40 / £50 per sq metre....more if you want traditional lime mortar as its expensive material to buy....e.g. cement is £5 a bag and lime is about £23...there is a really good website with up to date prices....i have totally forgotten it right now...i post again when i remember it ..!!

It is virtually impossible to find bricklayers at the moment. I assume because lots of people are building extensions? Our plumber said that he was on a build the other day and someone tried to poach the Brickie and he said that he was already on £450 per day! I would wait a bit till prices are slightly more sensible. I am seriously considering a career change.
