When to sell?

Planning to sell and move across the country next year. Spring is the traditional time to sell but would Winter be so much worse? I just want to get it over with. Lots of houses seem to be on the market at the moment. We need a long entry date to give us time to find an onward purchase.

Following for advice also!

We want to sell, ideally before June. No onward purchase. I want it done sooner rather than later but also don't want to sit with it on the market all winter with little progress in the current market... DH thinks wait until Spring.

I’d list now - we listed in April and sale only going through now as had two previous buyers change their minds.

We are wondering the same but have seen a house we really like so need to get ours on to have any chance of being able to make an offer.

Not confident at all of selling quickly in the current market. Also don't want viewings round Christmas. But I do really like the house we've seen so can't hang about.

Have you not been following the news 😂

Market is all over the show . Reduced properties all over . Enquiries from new buyers are down hugely , far less options with mortgages.

Get it on the market now at a sensible price and be prepared it will take a long while to sell - potentially 6 months

40% of sales falling through at the moment

(We've just exchanged on our sale and our purchase is likely to fall apart / which took us 6 months to find 😂🤣🙄)

If you’re not in too much of a hurry I would leave it until after Christmas now to list.

We’ve also just seen a house we really like. I phoned a local EA to ask for a valuation and asked how the market was. She said it was terrible, with sales falling through constantly because of mortgage problems. Much as I love the house we’ve seen, I’m thinking that trying to move right now might just be too stressful!
