We’ve got internal stain glass glazing above doors and a window in one hall where the idea was to bring light into the centre of the house. We’ve now almost finished all the work but building control are insisting these windows are fire rated.
While we would be okay-ish (but not keen) with a satin or clear finish over the doors, we don’t want that in the window at eye level. Clear glass is out unless as a last resort for privacy reasons.
In an ideal world, we’d replace the stain glass but with fire rated glass but that doesn’t seem to be possible.
Any ideas what we could do?
