kiln dried logs for fireplace

hi all,

we have a fireplace that is blocked up but want to make it a decorative feature in front room - we are looking at kiln dried logs? I understand they have to be under 20% moisture or something, we dont want them for burning and dont want them to come with all sorts of wierd bugs in them haha, has anyone any recommendations of places they have bought decorative logs from for this purpose?

thank you x

you wouldn't care about moisture if you won't burn them

Moisture isn’t relevant if it’s just for decoration. Just look at a local suppplier. Or buy a couple of bags from your local petrol station

I only bring mine in between oct and feb after I moved in during august and there were literally 100s of woodworm all over the windows that had come from the logs stored in the the house. From feb the beetles start hatching so I always take the logs outside then and just bring them in night by night ! I wouldn't advise using them as a decorative feature !

You can buy decorative logs on Amazon etc.

Have a look at bio ethanol burners with ceramic logs
