Relocating to Sale/Altrincham/Cheadle/Cheadle Hulme

Hello - we're looking to relocate to one of these areas next Spring/Summer - currently a wide search area, but looking to narrow it down ASAP. Does anyone have any advice or experience re whether any of these areas are particularly short of primary school places, and if we might run into trouble in trying to find a place for a September 2023 start?

That is a wide area you are talking about. It is better you give your budget and requirements so easier to advise. Just say Sale and Alty definitely very competitive with schools.

Yes all very competitive. Are you applying for a reception place or in-year for Sept 2023? That will make a difference (in-year places are even harder to come by). Depending on the age of your child/ren, don't buy purely on catchment for primary school, consider secondary schools too. Although some may say secondary schools change alot over time, certainly in Trafford (Sale & Altrincham) there isn't much variation in the standard of schools over decades but catchments for secondary schools (in the main) are notoriously tight.

What’s your budget and what do you need? Mythically cheap northern property doesn’t exist in Manchester, especially not those bits!

What’s your budget?
Altrincham is not cheap!
