Kitchen floor and wall colours

We are part way through a kitchen diner extension and I'm totally lost with colours! I need to choose paint and flooring and I'm going round in circles.

We've chosen an off white shaker kitchen with oak block work tops and an industrial oak dining table with brown leather chairs.

Initially I was wanting a grey slate vinyl floor with maybe dulux timeless walls or maybe a very pale grey. Now I'm not sure it will go. Any ideas welcome. Have been looking on Pinterest and can't see this colour combination (maybe as it's awful!)

Have you got samples of all your materials so far? A bit of the worktop, a bit of kitchen – you can often just buy a drawer for this purpose – some leather? Put it all together in the room together with floor and paint samples. Far better than Pinterest because it works for the light and aspect of your room, and you don’t have to worry about doctored photos and mismatched computer screen levels.

Second making a material sample board. Surely this also depends on what your overall aesthetic tastes are? Are you a minimalist and lover of neutrals or is there a certain colour you love that you want to incorporate. I am a colour lover through and through so our new open plan space has blue ground shaker kitchen with gold handle and white quartz worktop. But balancing that out with winborne white on walls and traditional herringbone oak flooring. Colours of furniture are marigold orange, duck egg blue, teal and small pops of sunflower yellow. Here is my mood boards- definitely helps pulling ideas together!
