Sealing a wooden floor

We have a wooden floor, made from manufactured planks, that I would like to seal to add to make it more durable. I don't want to change it's colour or make it glossy, just want to add a layer of protection against water and scratches etc .

Has anyone done this? Can you recommend a product?

Diamond Floor Varnish. Several coats. The satin version looks better than gloss (which is sometimes called "toffee apple"). If you want to change or correct the colour, use spirit-based wood dye (not stain) on the clean, sanded, bare wood first.

Do you mean engineered wood? With a veneer top layer? It is usually sold ready-varnished.

Laminated flooring is made of woodpulp with a photograph of wood glued to the top, and is not at all the same thing. If the photograph is damaged it is irreparable.

Hmm... I didn't put the floor down, so I'm not 100% sure what it is exactly. Not laminated.

I think it's engineered.
