Leaky shower

I've got a new shower and it's leaking from the shower head!
Has anyone had this??
Why is it doing this??
And how can this be rectified??
Can anyone help

Is the washer sitting right inside? I also had one shower hose that had to have the ends the 'right' way, as in only one end would give a secure enough fit to the head (even though they looked identical)

I have no idea I have no idea how to check this and had to Google washer in shower!
I didn't anticipate this happening 😞😞😞

If I turn off the shower at the cord would it stop it?

Is it an electric shower? Not sure having cord there meets regulations. Who fitted it , can they not sort it out? Is is a dribble when turned off or constant.

purpleme12 · 21/10/2022 11:21

It's one drip every so often.
I haven't contacted him yet.
Yes it's electric.
The cord has been there since we bought the house. Why do you say it doesn't meet regulations?

You need to pull the cord to off after every shower. It shouldn't be right next to the shower for safety. Take the hose off the shower and see if any water comes out of the shower itself

LIZS · 21/10/2022 11:46

The odd drip is normal. Some water remains in the head or pipe. Electricity within a splash zone is a safety issue.

purpleme12 · 21/10/2022 12:07

I'm not convinced this is the odd drip.
It drips on me when I'm having a bath. My old one didn't used to.
I have just unscrewed the shower head as suggested above and yes water did come out of the shower hose here

I don't think the shower is right next to the cord

Should I be pulling the cord off after each shower then? I didn't know that?

Either way there was still water in the shower

Surely there shouldn't be water in the shower?

Depends on the angle of the head and the water pressure. When you turn it off it may not all run through. There should be a seal inside the spray head.

So I should just contact the person who put it in if it continues? Is this a fault with him putting it in?
