Cat-friendly carpets

Has anyone got any recommendations of nice carpets that are cat-friendly? I know to avoid looped carpet completely but wondered if anyone has any specific recommendations to A) avoid scratch damage and B) not show up fur.

The carpet will only be on stairs and bedrooms and will likely be very neutral -- oat kind of colour. Would this be okay with tabby cat fur?

We're living in rented at the moment with a grey carpet that I fully HATE so I can't wait for a refresh!

We currently have oaty flecked short pile carpet, and two black short pile cats! It's good and doesn't show muddy pawprints either ( unlike the slate floor in the hall).

Sadly we are ( hopefully) moving to a grey carpeted house soon.

the only way to have cat proof carpets on your stairs and bedrooms is not to let the cats go there sorry i have four cats and have had cats all my life and yet to find one the little beggers cant claw to pieces

twist polypropylene. Stain proof, scratch proof.

We have short pile carpet in a mid greige colour, except on the stairs where we have grey/green flatweave herringbone. Cat very occasionally has a go but can’t see any damage and she mostly prefers to claw the coir doormats. Thank god.

I suspect it depends on your cat’s habits more than the carpet tbh - though would definitely avoid loop or anything that resembles a scratching post…

Sorry to take things on a tangent but what’s so bad about grey?!

We are renting at the moment and have a black cat. We have an oaty sort of carpet and I hate it. Always thought light grey would be lovely. Now wondering what I’m missing.
