Is no bath really such a problem?

We have kids 7, 5 and 6 months and we wouldn’t mind no bath, but thinking of if we sell the house?

The 2 youngest do enjoy a bath admittedly but the bathroom is tiny and I’m desperate for more space! Could get a deep shower tray for the baby to splash around in. Or get a tiny bath, but to me those would be more off putting than no bath?

@Yellownotblue so you judge disabled people who can't have a shower or who have a bath because it helps with pain for destroying the environment?

Exactly this ^

Baths are a huge waste of water and energy, not to mention time. We’ve just finished a substantial extension and we now have no baths at all, but 3 kick ass walk in showers. It’s bliss.

As we need to reduce carbon emissions and stop wasting water, we should all be switching to short showers. It’s a very easy change.

I think you’d be surprised - it’s not quite that clear-cut. Showers are not as water-efficient as many people think, especially if you are fussy about your water pressure. If you spend more than eight minutes in the shower or if you have a very powerful one fitted then it probably uses more water than a typical bath. It also depends how you heat your water - electricity is so much more expensive than gas at the moment that an electric power shower will probably cost more than a bath in terms of water and energy unless you shower very quickly.

I wouldn't buy a home without a bath. I love a bath as do my adult DC.

And when they were small baths were central to a soothing bath time routine - isn't a shower more stimulating than calming? I'd never have a shower when getting ready for bed - a bath is so calming and relaxing.
