Any ideas on how to reduce the noise outside?

I live in a close and I don't know which house it is but one of them plays noisy music night and day. I've gone out and had a look outside but the noise just bounces round the close and it's hard to tell where it's coming from but I can hear it in my house regularly and it's really annoying. Does anyone have any ideas how I can soundproof my home better or at least lower the amount of noise coming from outside? Thank you

Jesus it must be deafening in their house if you can hear it inside yours , I love listening to music ( loud ) and when it’s kranked up it can hardly be heard outside on the street ( we have good windows ) , so there is no way any of the neighbours can hear it inside. Are you detached ? The only thing you can do really is keep your windows closed when the music is on.

It's a detached house and it is double glazed. We keep our windows closed but you can still hear the bass booming. I have no idea how loud it must be in the person's house, it's got to be deafening.

Your best bet is to speak with neighbours to see if they are experiencing the same and if so, do they know where it might be coming from. Speak to environmental health to see whether they’ve received any similar complaints in your area. Noise of this type is difficult to mitigate against due to the low frequency content of the bass which can carry a long distance due to the long wavelengths.
