How do you cope with the stress of moving house?

We're on a tight chain. If we don't exchange and complete within the next 2.5 weeks we'll lose our buyer as their mortgage lender won't give any more extensions to their offer (there have been endless complex delays with the paper work and we lost our onward purchAse so it's all take months)
It's touch and go whether or not we'll get moved or the whole thing will collapse.
I haven't actually slept for NIGHTS now. I'm exhausted and totally wired. I'm spending all my days on endless phone calls feeling frustrated and my work is suffering too.
We have two kids too so we still have to get them to school etc through all this. Honestly feel like I can't cope at all!!

Van is packed, sale is completed... still waiting on purchase 😬😬

Even though I'm desperate to get out it's very weird to be leaving the flat where we brought our two DDs home and where we endured lockdown

We’re still waiting. Funds sent, just waiting on confirmation that keys can be released. Removal guys and husband should be at destination now (we’re moving London to Bristol) and me and my son are on our way. Gahhhh!

Today has been a good day for the House Buyers of Mumsnet.

@Sunbird24 did you get your completion today?

Son and I are in. I’ve made the beds. It’s absolutely massive compared to our old place!

Can I also just add that my day started with a flat tyre. It feels like a miracle we’re here!

Will be here on Monday rooting for @Reallybadidea and any others I’ve missed that are completing.

@mistletoe1 yes, completed at around 4.30pm, so all my stuff is out and I’m moving wagons, but won’t be delivered until Monday morning so I’m staying with a work friend. Unfortunately that was only realised as time kept passing so I literally have what I’m wearing and whatever was hanging in my wardrobe at the time it had to be dismantled. Not so much as a toothbrush or a clean pair of pants. Guess who’ll be underwear shopping tomorrow! 😂

It sounds like we might actually be ready to look at exchanging next week. Supposedly everything that those lower down the chain we're waiting on is now back, so we should be ready to go. After the number of false starts we've already had, I'm reserving judgement, but fingers crossed this time is the one!

Would you book removal company and air bnb when you have a date for exchange or wait till exchange has actually happened ??

I’ve wondered same things about booking removals - we had a quote early
on in process and I want to start getting things organised but don’t want to tempt fate!
i think I might wait until exchange confirmed

@RM2013 I know!! I also am getting them to pack as it's impossible with a 4 month old...

But if I leave it to late and have to pack! Yikes!

3 of us in chain we are in the middle - selling to FTB who it sounds like are good to go, we are just waiting for enquiries back from vendors solicitor. Vendor moving in with family. Moving to the other side of the town we live in so no more than a mile away. Thought removals company would be easier as don’t want the hassle of trying to book a van (and one of us drive it!!) we will be doing the packing though.

I will be getting my 2 teenagers to help pack as we have been here nearly 20 years and have a lot of things to move!! we have already decluttered the loft and garage though

@RM2013 ah fair enough - and sounds good using kids to pack, sadly mine isn't old enough haha. At least you've decluttered and sorted out bits!

So apparently everyone in the chain is suddenly panicking about the budget announcement on the 17th and want to complete on the 16th...

Buyer says happy for us to not completely vacate but he just wants to legally complete but surely vacant upon possession js a legal requirement in the contract...or is it negotiable with the other party? Bloody budgets!!

I have a horrible uneasy feeling that our buyers have cold feet.
I'm not sure I can stand much more of this waiting and anxiety. It's just awful.
Hopefully people will be back from their holidays tomorrow (buyers, their solicitor and two EAs were all off last week) and I'll get some answers.

My removals are supposed to be packing. They’re not here yet.
im sure they’re having a fry up somewhere.
I can’t wait for this to be over.
