Oh bugger!! I'm sorry. Hopefully there will be another one soon.

OldFan · 13/12/2022 00:50

Aw I hope you find somewhere ASAP. Could you somehow get more medical points or something?

Unsureofthis · 13/12/2022 14:20

Hi,

can you tell me how long you were on the direct let list? I am on ther and a band an and not getting anywhere. Also when they call you do they give you the full address of where you are accepting? Thank you

OldFan · 13/12/2022 17:56

@Unsureofthis It'd be completely dependent on your area so OP's experience would be unlikely to apply to you unless you're in the same area maybe. I was homeless and in a hostel then a temporary flat, with medical priority but no kids, and I got a permanent flat within 2 months. But we have quite a bit of council housing here (Birmingham) and I probably bid on a place most people wouldn't want because it's a tower block. I think one people viewed it before me but they turned it down. I like it because it's walkable into the centre of town- but there's quite a bit of gang violence locally.

Update
I’m next on the list to be offered the property the housing have messaged me it’s still showing as shortlisting and not been offered yet but the lady who deals with this property is off till Monday and she is going to ring me Monday to discuss does this mean I’m going to be offered it? Or am I next after someone else? Bit confused 😕 x

I am in need of an advice regarding council house. My partner and I are expecting our first baby. We live in privately rented small studio apartments high isn’t suitable for a newborn. Landlord will never accept baby living here therefore we are expecting eviction notice as soon as he’ll realise I’m pregnant. My partner has 50k in CCJ (debts) and no housing agency will rent us anything (I called and they said we wouldn’t pass references). We contacted our local council and are about to put application for council house. We have to submit 3 months bank statement and payslip. To be eligible to apply in our council our earnings threshold cannot be higher than £70k gross income combined. Unfortunately, one of my partner latest payslips is very large and exceeds the threshold (due to his debts we can’t get anything on finance so he worked 7 days a week 12h a day to save money for safer car once the baby is born).
Will council disqualify us from registering? Our basic salary don’t exceed the threshold but his overtime - yes. It’s all clearly visible on payslip. I don’t have experience with councils and really don’t know (although we’ll be legally homeless) is this 1 month earring will stop us from even registering? Any advice is very appreciated. I am very anxious where I am going to life with the baby…

I have been awarded a direct let from Leeds City Council and I have been told I am close to the top, but does anybody know the waiting timescales for a direct let in Leeds? As in is there only one per month per area, or or what is the case? Thanks in advance

We have been offered 1st on bidding CBL property for a house, received email to confirm 2 weeks ago, Council contacted us today after 2 weeks to tell us the landlord L&Q have withdrawn offer with no reason given, can you advise now the next stage, I will raise a complaint but would like to know if the landlord pulled out due to work needs doing in the property can we still be 1st refusal etc when it comes back to bidding?
has anyone been through this pls advise, really emotionally stressed!
