Advice needed on floor gone wrong

My carpenter used a solvent based glue when laying our engineered floor and it really smells - it is giving me a headache, inflaming my sinuses and making me feel sick. My children are having to stay elsewhere as it was making them feel awful too. I was told the smell would go once the glue has cured but it has been almost a week and the fumes are still really strong. Does anyone have any advice or information on how long it actually takes for the smell to go, or how easy it would be to rip it all out and start again? Also has anyone else had a, similar experience??

some solvents can be really strong , even in well ventilated areas they can still give me a headache, I try to stay away from them now but the last one I used took about a week ( wood floor sealer ) , just try to ventilate the house as much as possible. And it should start to wear off.
