Need a recommendation for an independent damp surveyor in south east London

Just that really. Looking for any recs of independent damp surveyors (ie. the ones you pay for, not the free "surveyors" trying to sell injections) that will do surveys in SE9.

If you've had one done and were particularly happy, please let me know. Also feel free to say if you used anyone you weren't happy with, so I know to avoid them! Thanks.

’damp surveyors’ generally aren’t actually qualified surveyors. I’d go on the RICS website where all qualified surveyors are listed and filter for your area, residential, maintenance then structural. It will give you a list of chartered surveyors and then you’ll have a fall back of insurance.

Thanks fyn. The problem is that qualified surveyors via the RICS website are largely those carrying out homebuyers reports (not applicable to me) or building surveys (where they admit that they will only identify damp but won't do anything to investigate the cause and will direct me to a specialist). So that's not quite what I'm looking for, but thank you for your response

There’s a company called Damp Surveys ltd that have excellent reviews - we’ve booked them in

I’m on the surveyors website but I don’t do homebuyers reports or building surveys. All qualified surveyors are on the RICS website, it’s a requirement of being chartered. Anybody with a moisture detector can set themselves up as a ‘damp surveyor’, if they aren’t on the website you really risk getting ripped off.

Thanks @KylieWasHere - I've made contact with them, so fingers crossed they might cover my area. 😊

Hi @KylieWasHere ... I wondered if Damp Surveys turned out to be any good?
