What do i need? Monthly subscription ?

I would like footage to be recorded and be kept if needed

Try eufy doorbells.

They do the same as ring, but store the images on a local hard drive so you dont have to pay a monthly subscription.

They can be fitted to mains electric or a battery, and come with a box that links to your router.

I'd get a Eufy one, no subscription required.

You just need to buy a micro as card £6.99 on Amazon.

Don't waste your money OP, round here, thieves in hoodies prize them off at night & flog them on. Waste of money.
