1% plus VAT. But 3 years ago so probably not worth knowing

Mosaic123 · 02/10/2022 18:14

East London with many estate agents to choose from

Dougieowner · 02/10/2022 18:25

1%+vat.
Sold two houses in past year.

Didn't have an open day but EA accompanied all viewings over intensive 5-day period (20+ viewings, all sold and ready to proceed).

Digimoor · 02/10/2022 19:26

I got quotes that varied between 1% plus vat to 1.75% plus vat

Digimoor · 02/10/2022 19:27

EPC was extra

nokitchen · 02/10/2022 19:31

Set rate. £3,500 plus vat

donquixotedelamancha · 02/10/2022 19:33

0.75% plus VAT.

AlwaysGinPlease · 02/10/2022 19:37

0.85% + VAT. We're in the process of selling now.

parkrunner1977 · 02/10/2022 20:05

We're in the process of selling now and the fee is a fixed £1,200 including VAT. That included photos, video, full marketing, and accompanied viewings.

Cherms · 02/10/2022 21:38

1% + VAT. EPC extra

Lcb123 · 02/10/2022 21:55

£2,000 including VAT (purple bricks) including accompanied viewings

Popcorns · 02/10/2022 21:57

0.75% + VAT. £350k property.

pilates · 02/10/2022 22:01

South east last year 1% plus VAT

tottielottie · 02/10/2022 22:28

2% in London

Twiglets1 · 03/10/2022 05:48

I think it was 2% plus VAT but this was for central London.
Areas are different so you need to phone a few agencies to see what is the going rate in your area

OnTheBrinkOfChange · 03/10/2022 05:53

Does it have to be paid upfront or only on sale?

with traditional estate agents it gets paid when it’s sold. Not sure but with with some of the online agents I think people pay upfront.

Roselilly36 · 03/10/2022 09:37

We used an High Street EA, 1% plus VAT, no sale no fees. Internet style EA you can either pay upfront or defer it, but often you have to pay whether you sell or not.

therouge · 03/10/2022 09:40

Something like 1.5% + vat but it is paying for more beyond viewings and offers, it's the sales progression too, liaising with others in the chain and solicitors etc. Our EA is dealing with our entire chain so on top of things.

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 03/10/2022 09:41

1%inc VAT
they really earned their fee dealing with my useless fucking solicitors after the event

RidingMyBike · 03/10/2022 10:55

1% + VAT.

We then put it onto a management contract with them as we'd moved into rented 200 miles away so EA then responsible for weekly house checks, dealing with post etc as well as all the house selling stuff. That out cost up to 1.25% + VAT.

PencilCaseAss0rtment · 03/10/2022 17:34

Thank you everyone
I've been quoted 1% + VAT

So that sounds about right

I was quoted that.

I asked them to do 1% inc VAT and they said yes straight away.

Worth asking the question.
