If you are planning to renovate or build extensions, etc and with quotes being out of this world, what do you plan to do?

Will you go ahead with the works or delay with the hope that prices will come down in a few years?

I hearing of quotes of over £450k for double side extension plus back extension plus loft.

We are mid way through a complete renovation. Old House, 70cm thick walls, no insulation etc. Fortunately we had ordered in bulk so have enough insulation, wiring and plumbing supplies etc. The garden on the other hand is going to have to wait as the 10k we had originally quoted is now near £25k.... Large summer house, landscaping etc. And that's us doing it ourselves.

Still going ahead, but probably a lot slower and more DIY! Think it really depends on the situation the interest rate will be putting on the individual.

I'd wait for anything really big like that.
