Card down the back of fitted furniture

I'm hoping ingenious MNers can help me.

A very sentimental card has fallen down the back of my fitted bedside table. I'm moving house and I have no idea how to retrieve it.

This post got me thinking but I'm scratching my head because the gap is only a few millimetres. All suggestions welcome!

I have a vacuum and hand held vacuum if either of those could be helpful! Taking out the drawers just gets me to the back board behind which is the card.

Wrap sellotape sticky side out round end of ruler? Try to pick up with that

If it's built like the fitted units in most kitchens then pulling the plinth out from the bottom front of the unit will give access to a void underneath which will extend right back to the wall. You might find the card under there.

Take the drawers out, rip out the backboard and I doubt anyone will ever know once the drawers go back.

Get a king piece of cardboard and cut it into a thin strip but that’s thick enough to hold without it flapping around. Put Pritt glue on the end of it and then put it down where the card fell until the card sticks on it.

*a thin price of cardboard - not a royal one!

This would be a good approach; if you have a sharp Stanley knife you could do a neat cut in the board and just pop it back in with a couple of tacks once you’ve retrieved the card

Do you have a pic of the furniture? I suspected things had dropped behinda kitchen cupboard and took off the bottom peice and fished out several cloth napkins and a bunch of recycling that had overspilled!
