Shower, or Wet room in loft conversion dilemma

We have started our loft conversion, and the main bathroom will be upstairs in the loft. We will have a downstairs toilet, but DH is adamant on having a separate wet room next to bathroom as not enough bathrooms for family of 6. I am concerned about potential problems, leaks etc and it taking up some of the much needed bedroom space.

Do you think having a walk in shower room rather than wet room is better compromise, less problems with leaks, maintenance etc? Or would you just stick to one big family bathroom since we will have a downstairs toilet anyway?

Wet rooms are cold in the winter as a room is not as warm as a shower cubicle - I don't know about leaks

I wouldn’t have a wet room upstairs in an attic, I’d have a low profile shower tray. Much less likely to leak.

I hate wet rooms. Why does your DH want one rather than a shower room?

I do think two showers will be very useful for a family of 6.
