If you're selling a house, when do you hear from your estate agent?

House has been on the market 3 weeks. We've had one viewing, while we were away, which they facilitated but didn't tell us was happening beforehand. We had a brief feedback email a few days later.

Other than that, nothing. We have no idea if there's been any queries, nothing.

Is this normal? If there is no interest then I guess there's nothing to contact us about, but I'd expect a conversation about reducing the price at some point.

When our house was on the viewings stage I heard from them several times a week and sometimes multiple times a day. Arranging viewings, occasionally changing times, giving feedback on every viewing and then fielding offers.
The sales progressor is now in contact frequently. Either I've asked her something or she has an update or she's letting me know she's chasing the buyers solicitor.
Knowing what's happening is keeping me vaguely sane.

Thank you @FuzzyPuffling. We're assuming there's no interest (I'm not surprised tbh, I think it's over priced.) I can't help but feel a bit 'forgotten already' though.

There's a thread where we moan about our current house sale - feel free to join. Many of us are still stuck at the viewings stage, myself included. My agent is really brilliant. We hear from him regularly via WhatsApp/email/phone. That is to arrange viewings and relay feedback. We discussed pricing strategy beforehand, i.e. at which point to reduce. If there is no interest, then I do understand why they don't have a reason to contact you. As with anything property selling/buying, I'd be proactive and contact them. Let them know you're concerned about the lack of viewings.

I would call once a week if I wasn't hearing from them, asking what they're doing to generate viewings etc.

We had three agents before we sold. The first was a large chain, the various parts of which didn’t communicate with one another. Viewings we’re sporadic, feedback was non existent and we sacked them.

The best was a smaller local company. He did the viewings, was in regular contact and pushed the sale through.
