Pendant extractor fan

We are having our hob in our island now, and I think that a pendant hood will be the best for us, as it seems to be the easiet to fit. Just wondered whether anyone had any recommendations please on pendant ones? That won't cost the earth.
TIA

Are you talking about an extractor that sucks fumes and steam out of the kitchen and blows them outside the house through a duct?

Or are you talking about an expensive and useless kitchen ornament?

We have a ductless recirculating one at the moment, but it's a good point. The hob is going to be near a sliding door so quite possibly we don't need one...I just don't want massive stains on the ceiling...

Island hobs are difficult to extract neatly unless you can get under the floor of the room above. The canopy must be larger than the hob because, from an island, the plume will drift more than against a wall.

You can get a canopy extractor that will work, but you certainly need an extraction duct.

You could put an extractor fan in the wall, but it will be less efficient than a hood over the hob so must be more powerful.
