Can I replace a bathroom heated towel rail on my own?

Or do I need a plumber?

It looks fairly standard but I'd like to replace it as it's gone a bit rusty and looks unsightly. I plan to replace it with a matte grey or black one as the whites a bit boring

Anyway, before I give the job to a plumber to do, is there any way we are able to do it ourselves? How do I get the thing off for starters? Would I need to turn the water off?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Is it electric, plumbed in, or both?

@JenJones5 oh! Err now do I know this? Grin it's just ... there. It's mounted on the wall and I can see two screws at the top but not at the bottom. It's just 'in the wall' at the bottom

Is there an electric flex coming from it and some sort of switch to turn it on and off (probably outside the bathroom), or are there water pipes coming out and valves attached?

If the latter, get a plumber. If the former, are you comfortable with turning off the electrics, disconnecting it, and wiring in a new one? If not, get an electrician.

Have a look on YouTube. You can find easy to follow guides for things like this.

Ah I see! It's not electric then as no flex or switch. It's just solid into the wall

Is it definitely heated?

Could you post a picture, showing the bottom in cluse-up?
